Hi,
      I'm Keira

The Salon Photographer

I’m the face behind The Salon Photographer lens, and let me tell you—it’s been a wild ride getting here! Now based in Melbourne, my journey began in Regional Victoria, where my passion for photography ignited nearly two decades ago. Picture this: 16-year-old me, with my first digital SLR in hand, falling in love with the art of photography. Since then, I’ve built a thriving family and wedding photography business.

So, how did I get into Hair, Beauty & Aesthetics Photography? It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster.

I started out in Hairdressing and Beauty as a teen, then pivoted into HR and recruitment. For the past 8 years, I’ve been deeply involved in the hairdressing and beauty industry, serving as a HR manager and industry recruiter, and even spending 3 years on the ABIC council. So yeah, I totally get the hustle and challenges of running a small business in this industry.

Merging my love for the Hair & Beauty scene with photography was a no-brainer! I’ve gone from helping businesses hire the right talent to helping them build brand trust through stunning visuals.

So, if you’re a Hairdresser, Beauty Therapist, or Cosmetic Nurse and you're ready to level up your brand with killer imagery, let’s team up and make some magic happen!

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my deepest respects to their Elders—past, present, and emerging. I recognise their enduring connection to this land, their culture, and their stories, which have shaped and continue to shape this place. I honour their resilience and celebrate their rich traditions.

Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
